The following types of data are available at the site:

  • Traffic data
  • Real-time: flows, speeds, percentage occupancy, Average Loop Occupancy Time per Vehicle (ALOTPV), Average Time Gap between Vehicles (ATGBV) per detector every 30 seconds. This information can also be automatically aggregated and output in 5 minute time intervals.
  • Off-line: Flows, speeds and occupancies per detector are also stored off-line in an ASTRID database, which displays data in 15 minute or 1 hour time intervals. Average profiles can also be obtained.
  • Incident data
  • The police keep a record of all identified incidents in a historical database.
  • VMS message log
  • The ROMANSE Office keep a record of which VMS messages were set by time of day in an historical database.
  • Video images
  • The ROMANSE office record video footage 24 hours a day from all of their CCTV cameras. This is done by recording one frame every 4 seconds from each camera. The data are kept for 2 weeks before being over-written.

To some extent, the existing infrastructure dictates the types of scenario that can be tested at each site. The scenarios to be undertaken have been described in detail in Deliverable 3.1, but, for completeness, are again summarised in this report.
