PRISCILLA home page Toulouse Meeting
12_Sept_2002

The PRISCILLA Project, launched in November 2000 within the framework of the European Union's 5th Framework Programme for Research and Development, and involving the cities of Genoa, Southampton and Toulouse, with funding from the European Commission's Information Society Directorate, came to completion in September 2002.

To mark the event, the project partners invited representatives of local authorities, transport operators, industrial societies and consultancies to take part in a conference specially dedicated to bus priority systems and their integration in global transportation management policies.

space museum This conference's goal was to introduce the results obtained in the framework of the PRISCILLA Project, to share experience acquired in the field by all the various players and discuss perspectives in terms of development and deployment of priority for public transport.

The Cité de l'Espace Museum was chosen to host the event; it is laden with symbolism as it conjures up both innovation as related to European projects (Ariane V), co-operation with the East European countries (MIR space station) and using satellites for vehicle positioning and guidance.
