Funding awarded for a futher three years' research
The project team are pleased to announce that the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) have awarded funding for a further three years' study into the transport implications of virtual mobility.
The research, entitled 'INTERNET: Investigating New Technology's Evolving Role, Nature and Effects for Transport', will build upon this year's research. It will gather both quantitative and qualitative data about the impacts of virtual mobility. The study will examine the impact according to four key characteristics: income; location; mode of transport; and Internet experience.
The research will begin at the start of 2003. The Principal Investigator will be Glenn Lyons and the Principal Researcher will be Susan Kenyon. The research will begin in the new year and will be undertaken within the Faculty of the Built Environment at the University of the West of England (UWE). Please see the contacts page for new details of how to contact this research team.
More information on the new phase of research will be available in the near future. Don't forget to go to the papers and presentations pages to read the results of the first year of study in this exciting new area of transport research.
